Watercolour Cat Art by Cats of Karavella

First of all a lovely calico cat who has a unique name, which is Sassafras, but everybody call her Sassy! She is a timid girl, with some anxiety, so for her to escape to the garden is not a big temptation! But she loves to play fetch, and feel very safe with her humom, Erin!

The second painting was inspired by a lovely photograph which I received recently about my favourite models, cute tabby kittens! A sweet image about Milo and Tigger some time ago, after they were adopted. Thank you so much Kim for your photograph, and congratulation for you kitties being selected as models for my Cat Portraits Collection!

And finally a commissioned watercolour cat portrait about the sweet, short haired calico called Jesse, the beloved Russian Blue cat Leelee, and the beautiful long haired Tortoise Shell Suki! Thank you very much Gisella for your custom order, it was a pleasure to paint about them!

Fluffy Birmans and Cute Kittens

I would like to share with you two commissioned portrait about the Birman sisters. Kadife is a sweet little pirate kitten. She lost one of her eye due to acute glaucoma, because she was lucky to be treated by a good vet who knew which is the best decision in cases like hers. She is a charming fluffy creature, living a very happy life with her sister Kutsal, in Norway! Both sisters are beautiful creatures, and I enjoyed to paint about them equally. I am not able to decide which is more cute, I believe it must be amazing to have two fluffy hairball as company at home!

My third painting was made of a photograph about April and Adele, the sweet tabby kittens. What is more cute than a kitty? Two cute cuddling kittens! These sweethearts just cannot get enough from eachother, and it is exactly what they call a cuteness overload!

Three cat paintings

Another three cat art from my Cat Portraits Collection.

First of all a watercolor painting to remember the beloved Princess, this beautiful calico cat! She was a feral sister of the handsome twin cats Meeka and Vincent, who I introduced before, and unfortunately died in a car accident!

The second artwork is about Nefertiti, an Abyssinian cat painting. The Aby is often said to look as if they had just walked straight out of the wild. That’s because of his ticked coat pattern, which resembles that of wild cats such as cougars. Burned Sienna, Cinnamon, large almond shaped green eyes, equal with a warm and glowing appearance, and Nefertiti the 14 years old Abyssinian represent this gorgeous breed with the elegance of a beautiful queen!

And finally a portrait about Carter, a white cat with an eye patch.  It is not at all easy to paint a white, fluffy cat, but fortunately Carter has a pretty patch around one eye, so my painting session was not only searching desperately some shadows on a white cat, but I could play around his eyes to make the resemblance easier!

Cat Paintings by Dora Hathazi Mendes

Cat Paintings from Cats of Karavella Atelier.

The first watercolor cat painting from this selection is about a gorgeous Tabby who has mesmerising eyes! The second is a short haired Caramel Oriental cat painting. Looks of Dexter can be deceiving! Do not be fooled by those gorgeous innocent green eyes, and sophisticated look, in reality Dexter is a typical, very naughty Oriental cat.  Finally a Ginger cat portrait, a custom order about a very special, beautiful orange tabby girl called Melon, who had severe eye infection as a kitten coming from a very sick litter, and were luckily rescued by Newburgh Scats Inc. She was later adopted by John, and she is living a very happy life since then, being the sweetest cat ever!

Watercolor cat portraits

Three watercolor cat paintings from my Cats of Karavella Atelier.

The first one is a Doll Faced Himalayan cat painting about Teddy Bear who looks like a real sweetheart! But behind the innocent baby face, of course there is a naughty boy. Which of course is not a big surprise, as we could say the same about most of our fur babies, but that is why we love them!

Another comissioned watercolor painting about a lovely calico cat Tinks the Minx, who has beautiful mesmerising eyes, and who is always ready for a good tummy rubbing!

And finally a double portrait titled Sleep Well Little One, because I have to admit, that I have a thing for sleeping cats. A sweet moment captured on my watercolor painting, the orange tabby Winslow protecting the dream of little Leo.

Dreamland

Three watercolor cat paintings from my Cat Portraits Collection.

On the first painting a Bengal and a Savannah cats somehow were swallowed by a giant white towel, which sent them together immediately to Dreamland.

The second painting is a commissioned portrait about the tuxedo Elvis had a very tough start in life. As a kitten, he was living with a hoarder, who couldn’t care less of him. When he was hit by a car, nobody took him to the vet to see his broken jaw, so it fixed by itself without any assistance, and left him with a little a teeth exposed from his mouth. When they found him, was already nothing to do, but he got a second chance, and was very lucky as Dawn rescued him, and he is having a happy life since then with his new loving family. He is a perfect, jolly guy, and the cutest cat ever! That is why I give the title to this cat portrait, Lucky Elvis!

And finally a Lynx Point Siamese Cat Painting inspired by by a photograph I received to my Cats of Karavella Atelier Facebook page! I must be biased when I choose a lynx point cat to paint, as I have one myself. so obviously I found them absolutely gorgeous! And Paulie was a perfect model, with his sparking sky blue eyes and typical lynx point coloration, which give the reason to call this cats as Snow Tigers referring to the White Siberian Tigers.
